The Land of EFY

If you would all like to know where I've been. I've been lost in the land of EFY. I was called about six months ago to be our stakes YW president. Part of this calling is to plan our stakes Youth conference. The conference is going to be the week of spring break, which for us is the week before Easter. It has been a privilege to work with the wonderful Youth leaders. Emerson, Heather(my sweet daughter) and christel.
EFY takes months to plan and it is crunch time now. The joke in our house, is Reed calls me to check on things and asks, "What are you doing?" The answer is usually I'm working on EFY stuff (handouts, folders, t-shirt orders, work day, leadership training, senior dinner, packing lists, dance handouts, chaperone training info, placing youth in groups)
I hadn't posted for awhile. I thought I would let everyone know what I am doing? Above is a picture of our stakes seniors. These amazing youth will lead at EFY. Even though they lead, it is a lot of work to help them be prepared. Those of you who have worked with youth will know what I mean. Also, above is the amazing logo for our t-shirts and folders. I am so excited for this wonderful event. It has been a lot of hard work, but all worth it.

Aloha

Reed had a meeting in Maui, we decided to take the family and make a trip to our favorite place on earth. We landed on the Island and I can't really describe it but I just had this overwhelming feeling of joy! The sun was shining and all was right with the world. A friend of mine texted me to ask how the trip was going. I just had one word "Heaven". It was so nice to get away from the gloomy cold weather. My bucket was filled.

Heather's Winter Formal

Here are a few shots of Heathers winter Formal this past weekend. She went with Emerson Hammer. They have a lot of fun together. Here Emerson is giving Heather her flowers.
Full view of Heather and her cute dress. To get it modest we bought two dresses to make one. We thought it turned out pretty cute!
Heather and Emerson doing silly faces. The funny part is they were doing similar faces with out knowing it.

Let it Snow

This is our third year heading to Lake Tahoe for a few days after Christmas! This year we decided to go to Squaw Valley. It has been so fun because we can all ski together. This is Reeds Heaven on Earth. He loves to ski and he loves skiing with his family. He is so loving and patient with all of us.
We had some pretty amazing snow while we were there. The skiing the day after this storm was so good!
While we were in Tahoe. Reed and I celebrated our twenty-fifth Wedding anniversary. The holidays were a fun time to get married, but not always the best time for an anniversary. We still managed to squeeze a fun dinner out. We are looking forward to doing something fun some time this year!
We were so excited to be able to spend time with Amy and Bryan. They spent their second Christmas with the Clevengers. We were happy to have some fun time in Tahoe With them.

The Happiest place on Earth

This year for Reeds Birthday we decided to load in the car and go to DisneyLand. We found out a few days before the big day that he wasn't working. We were so excited to spend a fun Day riding and spending time as a family.

It is so fun to see All the Christmas decorations and to watch to Christmas Parade. The parades and shows are my favorites.

I Love the Music!

One of my favorite things about the holiday season is the Christmas Music. While I'm driving around town I have my car radio tuned to all the Christmas stations. I find myself singing and smiling to songs like "Rockin Around the Christmas Tree" and " Jingle Bell Rock". I love all the traditional songs, the spiritual songs and the new ones. I just had so much Joy today as I was driving around Christmas shopping and car pooling.

Several years ago I was feeling a little low during the Holiday Season. My car was loaded up with all five girls and the Song "Santa Claus is coming to Town" ,by Boys to Men, came on the radio and I turned the radio up and we all started rockin out. We were laughing and singing at the top of our lungs. It was so silly and fun and it truly brought a feeling of Joy to my heart. Belting that song came to be one of our favorite things to do.

So, I guess what I'm saying in this little post is I Love Christmas Music!Does anyone feel like I do?
