American River

Several years ago the youth in our ward did a super activity. We traveled to the Sacramento Area to go down the American River. Eric West and I were the ward Young women's and Young mens presidents. We decided that we had to bring our families back, because it was so fun. Well here we are two years later. The Wests, Bohns, and our family made a one day trip to the Sacramento area, to ride the river.. I've never really thought of myself as an outdoors girl. But, if you read my recent blog posts it's all about being outdoors.

I was in heaven on this trip. We had so much fun with our friends and I loved being on the river. It was peaceful at times and super thrilling at other times. I felt so grateful for Heavenly Fathers creations. I guess that is how I feel about all the outdoors adventures. I can hardly wait to do it again next summer.

Half Dome Take Two

A happy day for me is spending it in the Mountains with good friends(Reed, Corey, Kirsten, and Jen) hiking in a heavenly place. We started the day at 3:00a.m., we were on the trail around 7:00a.m. We did the hike in just over 11 hours.
The day was pretty and so fun!
Here I am with Kirsten Greenlaw. We had so much fun talking about girls camp as we hiked along the trail.
Me with my sweet husband.
Shots of the group along the way.
This is the group at the top of the sub dome. I decided to head up the cable this year. I got about half way up and made the mistake of looking down and I lost it. All the memories of last year came flooding back. I decided to head back down. I didn't make it all the way up. But, I had a great day doing the 18 mile hike.
Corey and I chillin at the bridge at Vernal Falls, at the end of the day. Notice I still have a smile on my face. Corey was still trying to see if he could get his river soaked I-phone to work.
We got held up both ways coming into and out of the park. On the way out, we were the first car in the line. We just barely missed it being able to drive straight out. We waited there for about a half an hour. We were all pretty punchy and silly. I decided it would be fun to take a picture with Pepito. We were cracking up. What a fun way to end an amazing day.
