American River

Several years ago the youth in our ward did a super activity. We traveled to the Sacramento Area to go down the American River. Eric West and I were the ward Young women's and Young mens presidents. We decided that we had to bring our families back, because it was so fun. Well here we are two years later. The Wests, Bohns, and our family made a one day trip to the Sacramento area, to ride the river.. I've never really thought of myself as an outdoors girl. But, if you read my recent blog posts it's all about being outdoors.

I was in heaven on this trip. We had so much fun with our friends and I loved being on the river. It was peaceful at times and super thrilling at other times. I felt so grateful for Heavenly Fathers creations. I guess that is how I feel about all the outdoors adventures. I can hardly wait to do it again next summer.

Half Dome Take Two

A happy day for me is spending it in the Mountains with good friends(Reed, Corey, Kirsten, and Jen) hiking in a heavenly place. We started the day at 3:00a.m., we were on the trail around 7:00a.m. We did the hike in just over 11 hours.
The day was pretty and so fun!
Here I am with Kirsten Greenlaw. We had so much fun talking about girls camp as we hiked along the trail.
Me with my sweet husband.
Shots of the group along the way.
This is the group at the top of the sub dome. I decided to head up the cable this year. I got about half way up and made the mistake of looking down and I lost it. All the memories of last year came flooding back. I decided to head back down. I didn't make it all the way up. But, I had a great day doing the 18 mile hike.
Corey and I chillin at the bridge at Vernal Falls, at the end of the day. Notice I still have a smile on my face. Corey was still trying to see if he could get his river soaked I-phone to work.
We got held up both ways coming into and out of the park. On the way out, we were the first car in the line. We just barely missed it being able to drive straight out. We waited there for about a half an hour. We were all pretty punchy and silly. I decided it would be fun to take a picture with Pepito. We were cracking up. What a fun way to end an amazing day.

Baby Hudson

My sister-in-law Kerri ended up having her baby two weeks early. All the grandmas weren't able to come early, so Kylie and I decided to visit Arizona and help with the new baby. We have had such a fun week, playing with all the cute cousins. Kylie spent time at both the Winegars and the Spilburys. She was in Heaven. I loved holding the new baby and playing/chasing cute Kapri. It was so nice to have Kylie with me. She was such a help.

Here is Hudson Gary Winegar.
Another shot of the sweet baby!

My Brother Bob with his new sweet baby. Holding this baby made me super excited for Amy and Bryan's baby. I can't wait for Thanksgiving.

Girls Camp 2010

I think this may be my tenth year attending girls camp. I love everything about girls camp. I love the songs, the dirt, the fun and most of all the girls. This year our theme for camp was "Be of One Troop", it was a boot camp theme. We all got suited up in our camo and had so much fun!

These three ladies were the amazing camp directors. They helped to make it a wonderful week. I am so amazed at all the hard work that goes into preparing the events for our youth. They did such a great job! This year was so organized and well run.
On the first day of camp the fourth year girls did their big hike. I have done this hike many times and I absolutely love it. You feel like you are on top of the world.
I love hiking with the girls because it helps you to get to know them better. There is so much bonding that happens.
Here I am with some of the other adults who hiked the "Rock".
Here is cute Lauren on her 3rd year hike that was a few days later. I was able to go on this hike also. The big highlight was the rattle snake on the trail. This was the year of the snake. Two other rattlers were found in camp. I also had fun taking pictures of flowers on this hike. I will post a few later.
Here I am with my presidency. We decided to get some girly camo.
Lauren and her friend Bree. The day of the all camp activity.

Heather's Graduation

Below are some shots of Heather and Friends. When AMy and Kara graduated we had a little party for them to celebrate the big day. We kept up the tradition for Heather. Below is the picture we used for the invitation for their party. Tori, Heather , Kelly and Christel. These girls have been friends for a long time. Heather, Kelly, and Christel are attending BYU in Utah. Tori was accepted to BYU in Provo and in Hawaii and is choosing the warmer weather of Hawaii.

Here are the cute girls at their party.
This was a little entrance table leading into our back yard.

Me and my sweet Heather. It is so hard to believe that she has graduated. It is so scary to realize how fast time goes.
The girls all made a board highlighting their lives. This is Heathers board.
Here is Heather with some of her friends after graduation.
I love the color in these pictures.
Here is a shot of the family that was there.
Christel, Emerson and Heather! These three were pretty tight this year. They spent a lot of time planning all the youth activities for the past year.
Good luck Heather!

Yosemite round two

In my old age I am developing a passion for two things, Photography and hiking. I don't know why, but I totally enjoy going on hikes. I like the hardness of it and I absolutely love the beauty that I see. Add friends and family and I am in Heaven. These pictures below my friend Jen took. I brought my little camera, but she decided to bring her nice camera. I just let her take the shots. They all turned out so great!

This is the crew at the beginning of the hike. Reed and I, Kirsten and Corey Greenlaw, Amy and Bryan and Jen.
Here we are half way up the trail. We decided to to the Yosemite Peak trail. It took us all the way to the top and above Yosemite falls. Because of the rain/snow the falls were so beautiful.

Cute family
We had such a fun day with the Greenlaws. Reed and Corey run together. We all felt like we were joining them on their man date. They are pretty funny together. We all were cracking up hearing Corey's mission stories.
Here we are at the very top of the world. What a great day spent with fun people. All I can say is when is the next hike. I love it!
