25 random Things

My friend Amy K put 25 random things about herself on her blog and I thought I would give it a try.  I didn't really think I could come up with 25 things.  I guess I'm more random than I thought. However, I have to say I'm not as funny as Amy.

1. I absolutely love super hero TV shows and movies.  My fav is he TV show "Heros".  "Save the world save the cheerleader."

2. If I laugh to hard I wet me pants.  Ask all my friends that I grew up with.

3.I love to exercise, but, I also love to eat.  If I could figure that one out life would be good.

4. I am a "blurter" I tend to blurt out what is in my head.  This gets me in some trouble. Yikes!

5. I love watching Survivor.  I enjoy the challenges and I love all the Drama.  So Fun!  In fact I really like reality TV.  I enjoy the biggest looser and Jon and Kate plus eight.

6. I am a certified "Book-a-holic".  I really love to read.  I am my happiest when I am in the middle of a good book.  I truly feel sad at the end of a book.  The only problem is I tend to ignore everything else going on in my life.  One time while reading I vaguely overheard this conversation.
   Kylie "mom"
   Kylie "Mom"
   Kylie again "MOM"
Lauren, " Don't you know that when mom is reading she doesn't listen to anything you say"
I guess I need to get better at multitasking.  Reading and living my life.

7. I really don't enjoy being pregnant and I don't really like new born babies.  I love my own of course, but enjoy is another things.  Give me a cute sixth month old and no fat pregnant body.

8. I love my Aasics Gel Nimbus running shoes.  They make my feet soooo happy!

9. I don't enjoy making dinners, but I love making cookies.  I think a good oatmeal chocolate chip cookie could count as a meal?!?!

10.When I sleep at night I make a clicking sound,  My husband let me in on this one---who knew.   My mom makes the clicking sound too.  I guess it's genetic.

11.My favorite is getting in bed when my sheets are just cleaned. Heaven!

12.I love being a mom of Girls.  I love girl clothes, girl hair and girl activities.  I don't even mind the girl drama.  Well, I don't mind it to much.

13. I don't like shopping, but I love getting new clothes.  Figure that one out.

14. I enjoy a good card game. like rook and Nertz.

15. I want to hike half dome. Even though it kind of scares me.

16. I am thankful to have a husband that is a doer. We are always doing fun things and trying new things because of him.

17. Taking pictures of people is more fun than taking pictures of things.

18. My parents and my siblings are some of my best friends.

19. I love being in my forties.  It's all about me now.  I have time to learn, explore and try things I've always wanted to try.  Like Scuba diving.

20. I love being married to a very silly and fun husband.  You may not know this about him.

21. Traveling is so fun to me.  I want to see the world.

22. I enjoy teaching and giving talks.

23.  I was a very messy girl growing up.  I think my parents thought I was hopeless.  I am a clean person now.  Well not as clean as my husband thinks I should be(he's  Certified clean-a-holic), but I am still pretty clean.  This gives me hope with some of my girls.

24. My favorite treat is a Scotchamellow from See's Candy. Yummo!

25. Attending the temple and reading my scriptures are so important to me.  The Gospel of Jesus Christ is my life.  All I am and all I do are because of it.

Shots of Heather!

Heather and I went to Old Town Clovis to scout out places to take pictures.  She was generous enough to be my model.  I thought I would post some of the shots that I thought turned out cute.  The above shot is my favorite,

Camp Shooty

I have always loved photography.  My house is full of pictures of my family.  I consider it the best art work in the world.  In the past few years I have tried to take my skills to the next level.  My husband has bought me several great digital 35 ml cameras.  Several months ago my great friend Christine sent me an e-mail informing me of a photo class given by an amazing photographer/artist.  He took her family picture last year.  I signed up for camp shooty and this was my second week.  I realized after the first week that I know nothing.  I guess this is always the case when you start to learn something.  The more you learn, the more you realize how much you don't know.  This week was on composition.  Mariano taught us for awhile in his studio and then we all went to down town Fresno and he put us to the test.  He wanted us to take shots using some of his teaching and rules. When we first got there Mariano(www.marianofriginal.com) divided us in groups and had us shoot.  I was lucky enough to get Mariano as my partner.  I wasn't really comfortable trying to use the techniques on inanimate objects so he let me shoot him.  These were two of my favorites.  It was pretty nice because i was able to get feed back from him.  He said that the below picture looked like a frog smashed on the wall.  I thought it looked pretty cool.

This was a cool sculpture that came out of the top of the building.

This was one of the girls in the class.  Check out Mariano's web site and see what an amazing artist that he is.  It is fun to have him teach us.  But, you realize that we can't really even copy him, his pictures are very much a part of him.  I hope along the way I can develop my creativity at the level that he has.  What a fun day, I can't wait to get out with my camera and shoot.  Yea for camp shooty!   I had to add this picture below.  This was a homeless guy downtown.  I loved the Armageddon hat,  he kept saying the world was ending and Jesus was coming.  I thought this picture told a story.

We love the Lights

We have to fit all the fun Christmas traditions in.  Every year we either walk or ride in the neighborhood that has all the amazing lights.  This year we met up with the Jacksons and walked together.  We didn't get a picture together, we just took each others picture (Oh well).  It was cold, but we had fun seeing all the great light displays.  Heather ditched the family and went with her friends, we ran into them on our walk.  There is nothing like having your family follow you around when you are hangin with the friends.  Just call me the stalker mom,  I grabbed this picture of them.

Christmas Morning

Christmas Morning is the best.  Lauren and Kylie with their gifts and stockings!
Bryan is so excited to see what santa brought him.  He got a cool sports magazine
Trying on some new Christmas Clothes.
I absolutely love surprises.
Kylie and Jacob Schwendiman.  We had the Schwendimans over for brunch on Christmas morning.  We had so much fun talking and catching up on everyones lives.  Good food and good friends, what a great combination.

A few days after Christmas Bob and Kerri stopped by on their way to the Bay Area.  All the kids got their PJ's on and all of a Sudden Bryan, Amy, Lauren and Heather showed up in their footsie PJ's.  It was pretty funny.  Especially Bryan in his sports jammies.

Glimpses of Christmas

Kylie and I at her class party.
Kylie working on her craft.  The party had yummy food and fun games and crafts.
Kara was invited to a Young Adult Party and they had to wear tacky Christmas sweaters.  She was so mad because I gave all my Christmas sweaters away.  She and Christa came up with these cute creations.
We had our Christmas Eve dinner at Ruth's Chris.  It was the best meal ever, mostly because I didn't have to make it.
Reed and Shelley before.
Reed and shelley after.   Reed keeps getting mad at me because I post his silly faces.  Well here is another one.  Isn't he cute, I mean special.
loving sisters
Kara, Heather, Amy and Bryan.  We loved having our college kids home for Christmas.

Christmas Cookies

One of our favorite Christmas Traditions is making sugar cookies!  Kylie had her best pal Natalie over for the fun!
Cute Heather rolling out the yummy cookies.
Yummo!
Kara and Heather having fun deciding which shape of cookie to make.
Kylie and Natalie cutting away.
Amy, Kara , Kylie and Heather.  Sticking it out until the end.  It takes awhile to bake and frost them all.  When they are done they are so cute and really taste good.
